(a special award will be presented for the best decorated tackroom area)

 

TURNOUT INSPECTION

To be judged on in the three following categories by three separate judges:

~Rider

~Horse

~Tack

Total possible points to be awarded will be equally divided among the three sections.

Guidelines:

Rider in safe, clean, neat and appropriate attire according to the USPC D Manual, Chapter 13, allowing small, post earrings and pre-tied stock ties

Horse presented according to the USPC D Manual, Chapter 13

Tack to be safe, clean and well-fitted to horse following guidelines in USPC D Manual, Chapter13

Our Judges:

Viki Koscombe

Viki owns and operates The Stitching Bench in Ridgefield, CT, which provides expert repair of saddles, tack, chaps and blankets. She has been involved with horses all her life and competes in Eventing with her Thoroughbred mare.

Charlotte Mason

Charlotte has been a much beloved member of the Fairfield County Hounds Pony Club, having served the affiliate for over 20 years as a District Commissioner before becoming the Metropolitan Regionís Horse Management Organizer. Charlotte is affectionately known in the region as the "Queen of Horsetails" as her favorite spot to check during formal inspections is the bottom of the tail, where, she reports, "ticks like to set up housekeeping." 

Leslie Stevenson

An instructor for twenty-five years, much of that time as a pony club instructor. Thinks, "Horses are the most wonderful creatures in the world." and that, "all people should learn to ride because of the special bond between the horse and rider." Dressing horses and riders is her passion, explaining why she has her very own tack shop-Riders up! In Greenwich, CT.
