One clarification on the reading list: riders in the Introductory Division and riders 9 and under are required to the read the Prize List and the Usborne Book of Horse Care only. Everyone else has two books to read. I hope that this year will be the first year that everyone pays attention the age ruling. PLEASE make sure you read this very carefully in the prize list. Every year someone reads the wrong book for their age group.

*As an alternative for Riders 18 - 21 who are competing at the show at Second Level and Above, the book The Art of Teaching and Learning: Proven Methodology by Eckart Meyners may be substituted. This is to encourage riders who are starting to teach riding to consider how they teach as well as what they teach. This book may be ordered only from www.equestrianeducation.org .

 This written test will have some short answer questions -- not just true/false or multiple choice like the other tests. This would be in place of The Anatomy of Dressage.
