What is the Youth Dressage Festival?
(Published by Jeff, the Webguy)
It's a three or four day
weekend ( depending on when you choose to arrive) of dressage tests,
a written quiz, a few speaker sessions to add to your understanding
of the discipline, plenty of food, and hours and hours of getting to
know other people who love kids and dressage.
Be certain to see Lendon's
suggestions further down the page!
Things to read about here, on
the prize list or on the registration form:
The Quiz, the
Reading
list,
Roving Trainers,
Activities for Younger Children, Ice Cream
Social, Volunteering, USPC Teams,
Specialty
Tests,
Earning Your Way, Photo Albums (Please
send us your photos after the festival), the
Message Board and the
D4K Newsletter..
The official "scored" beginning
of the festival is the written quiz which everyone completes on
Friday. My experience is that the quiz scores really
sort out the top positions from the weekend.
Almost every question about the
event is answered somewhere on the
"PRIZE LIST" .
It's a lengthy document, yes, but it is revised every year to be as
current and complete as the organizers can make it. The
written test will include questions from the Prize List!!! <<<
This means that the KIDS SHOULD READ IT!!!
Then the entry fees and such are itemized on the
2008 ENTRY FORM
I know that you will still have questions, so we welcome emails any
time. Send your questions to me and I'll either find the
answer or get an answer for you from the appropriate committee
person. It's easy to answer questions this way, without
emails being sent to 84 different people, although never hesitate to
contact Lendon . Please
sign up for the D4K newsletter on the home page. We
don't publish more than about once each month, but you will get
updates, revisions, information about accomplishments of D4K
participants and such. Read the Prize List
about NO COACHING in the competition ring!!!!! As we receive questions I'll
respond directly to the sender and then post the question and answer
here for everyone's help! Also, click on the MESSAGE BOARD (to
the right). Lendon checks that and answers questions
frequently.
Enjoy the day! Jeff Kurtz WEBguy
